Colder weather will be experienced in most parts of Luzon this week amid the peak of the Northeast Monsoon or Amihan, according to state weather bureau PAGASA on Tuesday.

(We are expecting that this week we will have a new gust of the Northeast Monsoon, so we are expecting colder weather in most of Luzon.)

Jorda said the temperature may drop to 7 to 9 degrees Celsius in the Cordillera Administrative Region and other mountainous areas on Wednesday and Thursday.

That's why we don't rule out the possibility of a single-digit temperature, especially in the part of the Cordillera Administrative Region or in the mountainous areas.)

Amihan may last until February or mid-March, according to Jorda.

Meanwhile, Jorda said no low pressure area (LPA) has been monitored so far.

While the effects of the La Niña phenomenon on the country are not severe, Jorda said above-normal rainfall conditions are still expected in some areas.
