Heat index in Dagupan City to reach 44°C on March 12, 2025

Only one area in the Philippines is expected to have a heat index in the danger level on Wednesday, March 12.

According to weather bureau PAGASA's forecast issued at 5 p.m. Tuesday, the heat index in Dagupan City, Pangasinan, may hit 44°C.

The heat index is the measure of the temperature that a person feels in contrast to the actual air temperature. It is computed by factoring in the humidity as well as the air temperature.

A heat index between 42°C and 51°C is considered in the danger category, posing health risks such as heat cramps, heat exhaustion, and heat stroke.

NAIA, Pasay City will have a heat index of 40°C, while Science Garden, Quezon City, is expected to be at 38°C.

Dagupan had a heat index of 44°C on Tuesday, while San Jose, Occidental Mindoro, registered 46°C. Virac (Synop), Catanduanes recorded 43°C. —VBL, GMA Integrated News
