Magnitude 5.4 earthquake hits La Union

A magnitude 5.2 earthquake hit La Union on Saturday, according to the Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (PHIVOLCS).

The earthquake occurred at 10:36 a.m. it added.

The epicenter was traced to 16.88°N, 120.08°E - 031 km N 84° W in the municipality of Luna.

The quake had a depth of 10 km and was tectonic in origin.

PHIVOLCS said that Intensity IV was felt in the City of Candon and City of Vigan in Ilocos Sur, and Intensity III in Sinait, Ilocos Sur.

Intensity II was felt in Bangued, Abra, Tagudin in Ilocos Sur, San fernando and Aringay in La Union, Bani, Infanta and Bolinao in Pangasinan. The City of Baguio, meanwhile, felt Intensity I.
