Earthquake of magnitude 5.2 hits Calayan, Cagayan

A magnitude 5.2 earthquake jolted Calayan, Cagayan at dawn on Tuesday, PHIVOLCS reported.

The earthquake that is of tectonic origin struck 19 kilometers west of Dalupiri Island in Calayan town at 4:33 a.m.

It had a depth of focus of 10 kilometers.

Instrumental intensity III was recorded in Claveria town.

PHILVOLCS said aftershocks are expected. —LDF, GMA Integrated News
