Free planetarium shows, star-gazing as PAGASA marks 33rd National Astronomy Week

PAGASA is offering free planetarium shows and star-gazing sessions to the public this week as it celebrates the yearly National Astronomy Week (NAW).

The 2026 NAW observance began on Sunday, February 15 and will run until February 21.

On February 16 to 20, the state weather bureau will offer free planetarium shows at the:

  • PAGASA Planetarium, Science Garden Compound, Quezon City
  • PAGASA Visayas Planetarium, Mactan, Cebu, and
  • PAGASA Mindanao Planetarium, Molugan, El Salvador in Misamis Oriental

Free telescope-viewing sessions are slated from February 16 to 20 at the:

  • PAGASA Astronomical Observatory, UP Diliman, Quezon City, and
  • PAGASA Mindanao Planetarium, Molugan, El Salvador in Misamis Oriental

Other activities are also lined up for this week in other parts of the Philippines in collaboration with participating astronomy organizations.
