Apple Inc. has released another supplemental update for computers running its OS X Lion, this time to fix problems involving restoring a Mac from Time Machine.

The update to OS X 10.7.3 addresses problems some people have had when trying to use Time Machine to restore their Macs to an earlier state, tech site CNET reported.

CNET said the update weighs in at 24.55 MB, and is available via Software Update, or via download.

"If you have upgraded to OS X 10.7.3 and plan on doing any restorations with Time Machine, such as migrating to a new system or wiping your hard drive and restoring from a backup, then be sure to first install this update," it said.

However, CNET suggested that users back up their systems before applying this or any other update.

The Time Machine is a feature similar to Microsoft Windows' System Restore, that restores the system to an earlier state - handy for situations such as when a computer malfunctions after one installs a new app. — TJD, GMA News
