She of the dollar-sign name was hacked over the weekend, the latest celebrity whose account on micro-blogging site Twitter fell prey to online pranksters.

This time, the hackers played a "prank" on pop star KE$HA by making her account post a tweet that she would release a single in "a couple hours."

"It was potentially seen by Kesha’s 3.1 million followers, or even more, given that Twitter is a mainly public social network," The Hacker News reported Tuesday.

But the singer apparently spotted the fake message and quickly deleted it.

“Animals!! I love u (sic)! I got hacked. Single is not out yet. Promissse (sic) you’ll be the first to know!” she tweeted after deleting the hackers' post.

The Hacker News said it is unclear if someone outside of Ke$ha’s inner circle gained access to her account.

"It’s certainly possible that someone she knows and has entrusted her Twitter account password with decided to post the malicious tweet," it said.

On the other hand, The Hacker News said other celebrities have had their social accounts hacked in recent weeks.

It said these included actor Jason Segel, teen star Hailee Steinfeld and British pop singer Jessie J. — TJD, GMA News
