It may have been regarded among the top universities by reputation, but American private research institution Stanford University found itself attacked by hackers this week. A report on The Hacker News Friday said the hackers defaced one of the university’s web pages, which had been taken down as of 8 a.m., Manila time. “Everyday Someone Get Hacked, Today is your Day,” The Hacker News quoted the Indian hackers “Yash” and C0de Inject0r” as saying on the defaced page. “Admin -Good Security, But Still Failed To Keep Us Out Of Your BOX,” they added. Stanford University had placed fourth in the Times Higher Education's list of top 100 universities by reputation. The Hacker News said the hackers who defaced the Stanford University subdomain claimed to be from Team Nuts. It added the defaced page would play “Vande Mataram,” a patriotic song for Indians, in the background. The Hacker News said the hackers did not make clear their motive for breaking into the site. — LBG, GMA News
