Microsoft has fixed a bug that temporarily blocked several certified phones from accessing the popular video-conferencing service Skype.
A report on tech site PC World said Microsoft was deploying a solution to the problem, but did not immediately give further details.
It quoted a Skype spokeswoman as saying via email Friday afternoon that the issue is "fully resolved," although she did not say how many were affected or what caused the problem.
The PC World article said the problem affected Skype-certified phones from vendors including Panasonic, Linksys, GE and Netgear.
It cited discussion threads in the Skype support forum showing the problem appeared to have started last weekend.
"Over the past 24 hours, we have started deploying a fix on our end that resolves the log-in issues. We apologize for the inconvenience," PC World quoted Skype official Jennifer Caukin as saying. — TJD, GMA News
