Good news for diehard Harry Potter fans: your favorite sorcerer and his friends will still live on, with a "unique online experience" and "exclusive new writing" by the author of the successful franchise. The website, Pottermore.com, formally launched last weekend as a joint effort between Harry Potter author Joanne "JK" Rowling and Sony. "Explore the Harry Potter stories in a whole new way and discover exclusive new writing from J.K. Rowling," reads a message on the site It added that the first story in the series, "Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone," is ready for readers to "explore." The site describes itself as a place for fans to "share and participate in the stories, showcase their own Potter-related creativity, and discover additional information about the world of Harry Potter from the author herself." Pottermore.com can be accessed in English, French, German, Italian and Spanish. The site also allows readers to buy and download digital Harry Potter audio books - as well as the Harry Potter eBooks. A separate article on PC Magazine said Pottermore.com had completed beta testing recently, and is tied to the Pottermore Shop that opened March 27 and reported more than $1.5 million in eBook sales three days after launching. "Pottermore.com will expand over time to include content from all of the books in the series, as well as incorporating new material from Rowling, as well as from stories and guides she's written outside of the main series," the article added. – AMD, GMA News
