Free Wi-Fi a hit in Pasig carinderia's menu
Aside from its cheap food, a carinderia (eatery) in Pasig City is gaining popularity for an item on its menu: 24-hour free Wi-Fi.
In a television interview, Sonny Santos said his eatery has attracted many clients who use the free Internet service to access anything from social networks to important websites.
"Dito libre (ang Wi-Fi), kumakain ka pa. Naka-relax ka, libre ang Wi-Fi," Santos said in an interview on GMA News' Saksi late Thursday night.
He said 30 percent of his clients use the Wi-Fi, including businessmen and youths.
The free Wi-Fi at the eatery is the latest in an emerging trend where such a service is offered in public places including buses and the Makati City Hall.
Internet access in Internet cafes presently cost P15 to P30 an hour. — RSJ, GMA News
