Microsoft: IE10 coming to Windows 7

Internet Explorer 10, Microsoft's latest browser for its Windows operating system, is coming to Windows 7 as early as November, the software giant said Thursday.

Rob Mauceri, Group Program Manager for IE, said they will first release a preview in mid-November, then tweak IE 10 for Windows 7 based on feedback from developers and users.

"We will release a preview of IE10 on Windows 7 in mid-November, with final availability to follow as we collect developer and customer feedback," he said in a blog post.

Before this, Microsoft had made IE 10 available only on Windows 8, which will reach general availability status later this month.

Mauceri said IE 10 for Windows 7 will be an "entirely new browser" with "more performance and developer capabilities."

"IE10 brings improved real-world site performance and additional standards support to Windows 7 that Web developers have been asking for," he said. — TJD, GMA News
