The next Batman: Arkham game's title may be one of these domain names

Since they released Batman: Arkham Asylum in 2009 and followed it up with the even better sequel, Batman: Arkham City, in 2011, Rocksteady Studios have cemented their reputation as the people behind the best Batman games of all time. It’s because of this status that several gamers and devoted fans of The Dark Knight are looking forward to the next game in the series, and while official word has yet to be revealed on the follow-up, something has risen up this weekend to stir up some theories on what comes next for the Caped Crusader and Gotham City.

According to Tech website Fusible, evidence has been gathered that Warner Bros. is secretly buying a number of domain names, which may or may not be tied to the next Batman game or movie. The domains were registered as of January 10, 2013 through the internet brand protection company MarkMonitor,  and the following list has been revealed and known to the netsphere:

arkhamuniverse.com (Arkham Universe)
batmanarkhamuniverse.com (Batman Arkham Universe)

batmanarkhamarises.com (Batman Arkham Arises)

batmanarkhambegins.com (Batman Arkham Begins)

batmanarkhamdarkknight.com (Batman Arkham Dark Knight)

batmanarkhamknight.com (Batman Arkham Knight)

batmanarkhamlegend.com (Batman Arkham Legend)

batmanarkhamlegends.com (Batman Arkham Legends)

batmanarkhamnight.com (Batman Arkham Night)

batmanarkhamorigins.com (Batman Arkham Origina)

batmanarkhamstories.com (Batman Arkham Stories)

darkknightarkham.com (Dark Knight Arkham)

dcarkhamuniverse.com (DC Arkham Universe)

dcarkhamverse.com (DC Arkhamverse)
thearkhamuniverse.com (The Arkham Universe)

Rumors have swirled that Rocksteady may be developing a prequel instead of a sequel to Arkham City, so Batman: Arkham Origins has a nice ring to that approach if it’s true. On the other hand, Warner Bros. could be developing a new MMO like DC Universe, and the latter domain names lend credence to that theory as well. Either way, official word may come out sooner than we think, and 2013 has a lot of good game events to showcase that opportunity. — TJD, GMA News
