Samsung is being rumored to plan six versions of its upcoming flagship Samsung Galaxy S IV, an enthusiast site reported over the weekend.
The six include black and white color options, and storage options of 16, 32 and 64GB, according to a post on the SamMobile site.
"Of course storage is never a problem in Samsung devices since they have MicroSD expansion support and we do expect a MicroSD slot in the Galaxy S IV, which simply means you can upgrade the storage of your Galaxy S IV with up to 64GB," it said.
It said the six variants include:
- GT-I9500 Galaxy S IV 16 GB (White)
- GT-I9500 Galaxy S IV 32 GB (White)
- GT-I9500 Galaxy S IV 64 GB (White)
- GT-I9500 Galaxy S IV 16 GB (Black)
- GT-I9500 Galaxy S IV 32 GB (Black)
- GT-I9500 Galaxy S IV 64 GB (Black)
But a separate article on PC Magazine noted that while Samsung had announced the Galaxy S III in 16GB, 32GB, and 64GB variants, its 64GB model was not available at launch.
Months after the current flagship Galaxy debuted, rumors circulated that Samsung was planning to nix the 64GB version, but the tech giant promised to release it in international markets in the second half of 2012.
"Here's hoping the 64GB Galaxy S IV will be more widely available," it said.
PC Mag said the Galaxy S IV is rumored to have a 4.99-inch, 1080p screen, an Exynos 5 eight-core processor, 2GB of RAM, a 13-megapixel rear-facing camera, and 2-megapixel front-facing shooter.
It added the device will run Android 4.2.2 Jelly Bean out of the box.
Samsung is expected to launch the Galaxy S IV at a media event on March 14 in New York. — TJD, GMA News
