Building a working electric guitar from LEGO bricks
Yes, you can build a working electric guitar—complete with the ability to play notes and change pitch—with a set of programmable LEGO bricks.
The electric guitar, part of the latest wave of LEGO Mindstorms EV3 sets, is part of LEGO's popular Mindstorms programmable robotics platform, tech site CNET reported.
It is also one of three community-created models highlighting the potential of the third-generation Mindstorms kit dubbed EV3.
Aside from the electric guitar, LEGO also unveiled two more community-created models - a triceratops and what CNET described as a "whack-a-mole arcade game."
Meanwhile, the triceratops developed by Lasse Stenbæk Lauesen was designed to "recoil and roar" when a hand is put in front of it.
CNET said LEGO plans to unveil the nine other community-created models over the summer, most likely with the SparkTruck touring the United States.
"And, of course, given that the Mindstorms EV3 platform is all about giving people -- kids and adults alike -- the ability to create their own programmable robots, there's little doubt that within days, or even hours, of the platform's launch, the number of models will expand quickly from 17 to nearly infinite," it said. — TJD, GMA News
