Seller offers staples from historic Spiderman comic

Would die-hard Spiderman fans go so far as to buy just the staples off of the comic book where he first appeared?

 

A seller apparently thinks so—and seems to have been proven right after offering the items on online marketplace eBay.com.

 

The seller, "honestgrader," offered the staples of "Amazing Fantasy #15" from the "historic first Spiderman issue" in 1962.

 

As of Wednesday afternoon Philippine time, the item - offered for $100 - had been sold, with "honestgrader" indicating a "best offer" had been accepted.

 

But not all comic aficionados appear to be impressed with the sale, as online forums show:

 

"Guy is looking to make thousands more for the book by just selling the individual pages and the staples," said one.

 

"This eBay listing is for the two staples from an Amazing Fantasy #15.   Yes, the staples!!! If that wasn't bad enough, the sellers other listings include individual pages from the same book," said another. — TJD, GMA News
