After being released last April, WB Games and NetherRealm Studios’ “Injustice: Gods Among Us” continues to garner noteworthy praise and critical acclaim.

The DC Universe fighting game developed by the makers of “Mortal Kombat” has not only given gamers the definitive fighting game with iconic comic book characters such as Superman, Batman, and Wonder Woman, but also birthed a large fanbase and community that grows in tandem with the game’s popularity. This thereby earned the game title a spot in the annual fighting game tournament spectacle that is the Evolution Championship Series.

At EVO 2013 last July 12-14, the Injustice game community not only got the chance to crown the best of the best with their own individual tournament bracket, but also showcase a new “announcement trailer” for upcoming downloadable content(DLC) slated for the game soon.

Highlighting the video was the first new playable character for the second wave of upcoming additions to the roster, none other than the iconic alien hero and “Heart and Soul” of the Justice League itself—J’onn Jozz, the Martian Manhunter.

Initially a non-playable character appearing in the background of the Watchtower stage in the game, the Martian Manhunter is among the most hotly-anticipated heroes in "Injustice: Gods Among Us."

Now, fans who want to play the the Justice League's other super-powered alien (the first being Superman) finally get their chance.

In addition, the new trailer reveals a new alternative skin for Green Lantern—it’s not a simple palette-swap costume, either. Fans of the comics and mythos will be pleased to know that John Stewart, the African-American and fan favorite Green Lantern, will be added as a new DLC costume to the existing array users of the Emerald Warrior will choose from.

What’s more, Phil LaMarr, voice actor of the character of John Stewart in the Justice League and Justice League Unlimited animated series, will be reprising his role and adding new voice content, in a manner similar to actor Stephen Amell lending his voice for the “Arrow” alternate skin for the character Green Arrow.
