Fans of the "Back to the Future" movies can now go back in time after Lego released the "Back to the Future" Time Machine set, but only in limited quantities.
The newest playset from the popular construction toy maker was made available at San Diego's Comic-Con, according to a report on tech site Mashable.
"Fans can reportedly build three versions of the DeLorean. Instruction booklets contain production notes and images," it said.
Also featured in the set are minifigures of Marty McFly, Dr. Emmet "Doc" Brown, the Flux Capacitor, a time display tile and the Mr. Fusion Home Energy Reactor.
The latest set stemmed from a submission by two fan builders - Masashi Togami and minifigure builder Sakuretsu.
It was selected in December 2012 as the next Cuusoo set. Cuusoo lets fans pitch potential products. If the concept gains 10,000 supporters, Lego will consider making it an official product.
But what's even better is that Togami and Sakuretsu plan to donate the royalties to the Michael J. Fox Foundation for Parkinson’s Research.
Fox played the role of Marty McFly in the trilogy.
While the set is initially available this week at Lego's Comic-Con booth, it goes on sale globally Aug. 1 for $34.99. — ELR, GMA News
