AIO Robotics developing machine to fax 3D objects
3D faxing may be the next and natural evolution of 3D printing.
Think of your old-school fax machine as a printer with a modem that converts signals sent along phone lines to make up an image. Now fast-forward back to the future: with 3D printing fast gaining popularity, has the time come for the fax to make a comeback via 3D faxing?

Startup AIO Robotics is planning to build an all-in-one 3D printer, scanner, copier and fax machine, and wants to raise funds for it on Kickstarter starting September 4, according to a report on Mashable.
Called the Zeus copy machine, Mashable quoted AIO as indicating the machine may be "significantly cheaper than the Makerbot Replicator and Digitizer."
It referred to Makerbot's 3D printing and scanning technology combo, which sells for almost $3,000 but does not include a fax function.
It also quoted AIO as saying its proposed machine will have a seven-inch color touchscreen with an on-board ARM-based, cloud-connected
AIO's on-board computer will handle 3D scanning data - HD camera pictures from a swiping laser - then uploads the data to the cloud for final 3D reconstruction, it added. – KDM, GMA News
