Microsoft's Windows 8.1 Update 1 is not due until March, but what could be an early copy of the update is starting to make the rounds of the Internet, a tech site reported Monday (Manila time).
The Verge said the copy of Update 1 leaked on several file-sharing websites and includes several changes, including those for keyboard-and-mouse users.
It said the leaked version indicated it was compiled about Jan. 14.
"The most obvious change is a new title bar for Microsoft’s Windows 8-style apps, allowing you to close, minimize, and snap apps side-by-side with a mouse. It occupies a small amount of space at the top of all 'Metro' apps, and it appears to be included as more of a helpful option for mouse users to quickly navigate apps," The Verge said.
A search button and shutdown option have also been added to the Windows 8.1 Start Screen.
Users will also be able to access a context menu when right-clicking on Live Tiles, with the options including resize and unpin.
However, The Verge noted there are no "significant" changes in the update.
