PAGASA pulling plug on old website by end-February
Now that it has a new website up and running, state weather agency PAGASA is ditching the older version of its website.
PAGASA posted a notice on its old website (kidlat.pagasa.dost.gov.ph) indicating it will no longer update it after Feb. 28.
"This site will no longer be maintained and the contents on this site will no longer be updated after February 28, 2014," PAGASA said.
Earlier this month, PAGASA overhauled the website (www.pagasa.dost.gov.ph), adding more features and information on the home page.
Visitors logging on to www.pagasa.dost.gov.ph are redirected to the new site at web.pagasa.dost.gov.ph. As of Friday, www.pagasa.dost.gov.ph – which used to direct users to the old site – now points directly to the new site.
The new site is more visually appealing and organizes its data into weather warnings and advisories, hydrological warnings, and climate advisories.
It also contains content from its Twitter account @dost_pagasa.
PAGASA's website overhaul came shortly after it was tagged as among the most visited Philippine government sites.
