Transformers fight to survive in new viral site reveal
By MICHAEL LOGARTA
A new “Transformers: Age of Extinction” trailer has arrived, and at two and a half minutes long, it reveals how “The Rules Have Changed” for our favorite robots in disguise.
Things are not looking great for the Autobots, as the world they had vowed to protect has now become a threat to them. Not only do they have to worry about Decepticons, now it appears humans are hunting them down as well.
Compared to the previous trailer unveiled at the Super Bowl, this one initially dials down on robot mayhem and introduces us to the human element of the story.
We see struggling father, Cade Yeager (Mark Wahlberg), collecting and dismantling junk, which is apparently his only means to put his insanely hot daughter, Tessa (Nicola Peltz), through college. Ironically, this is also how he first comes into contact with Optimus Prime, disguised as a beat-up Freightliner Cab-over-engine Class 8 truck.
Suffice it to say that things get more chaotic from that point onwards.
We also get a new poster, exhibiting Optimus Prime’s rad new look. As was previously observed, the new designs seem cleaner, sleeker and more organic. No more exposed nuts and bolts here; Optimus Prime’s nakedness is all covered up, giving him the appearance of a badass, armored knight.

“Transformers are Dangerous” viral site goes live
In tandem with the new trailer, a viral site for the new movie has also been launched. This gimmick not only proclaims the Transformers as a menace to the entire human race, it also merges Bay’s movie-verse with our own.

An alternate way to be directed to this link is by dialing the number displayed on the “Remember Chicago” billboard seen in the trailer.
“Transformers: Age of Extinction”, which is based on Hasbro’s Transformers action figures, is written by Ehren Kruger, whose writing credentials include “Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen”, “Transformers: Dark of the Moon”, as well as “Scream 3”, the American remake of “The Ring”, and “The Brothers Grimm”.
It is directed by franchise mainstay, Michael Bay. His first Transformers film in 2007 was a major box office success, earning over $700 million worldwide. The next two installments in the trilogy did even better, garnering $830 million and more than a billion dollars respectively.
The movie stars industry veterans Mark Wahlberg, Stanley Tucci, and Kelsey Grammer. Other newcomers to the series include Jack Reynor, Nicola Peltz, Sophia Myles, Li Bingbing, T.J. Miller, Han Geng and Titus Welliver.
Peter Cullen will reprise his role as the voice of Optimus Prime.
“Transformers: Age of Extinction” will hit theaters and IMAX on June 27. — TJD, GMA News
