The Maze Runner: A quick survival guide

This coming September, fans of Divergent and Ender's Game will be in for a treat when James Dashner's The Maze Runner finally hits cinemas.

The story is set in a dystopian future, where teenagers engage in the age-old game of survival of the fittest - a game conducted by scientists to find out who will be able to live in a post-apocalyptic world.

A group of boys and a girl wake up in a visual prison called the Glade, with no memories aside from their names. Thomas (played by Dylan O'Brien), the most recent addition to the group, tries to search for a way out but it's far from simple. Outside the Glade are huge walls and paths that change everyday, and there is always the threat of Grievers—predators that haunt the Maze.

Young adults and sci-fi lovers are invited to join the run on September. Minho (played by Ki Hong Lee), one of the elite runners in the world of the Maze, has thoughtfully prepared a manual to help the audience survive the journey:

As always, there looms the pressure of matching up to the bestselling novel it was based on, in addition to the fact that the The Maze Runner is to be Wes Ball's first feature film.

In spite of this, there are enough big names to pull a captive audience - specifically Dylan O'Brien, who plays Stiles in Teen Wolf, Will Poulter who appeared in the Chronicles of Narnia and We're the Millers, and Thomas Brodie-Sangster, known for Love, Actually and Phineas and Ferb. In fact, gifs and photos extracted from the trailers are already making their rounds in social media and blog platforms.
