WATCH: A clicky tribute to IBM's timeless Model M keyboard

Now, this is one tribute that clicks.

A tech site paid tribute to IBM's timeless Model M keyboard, which marks its 30th birthday this year, with a video featuring - what else? - keyboards.

"In honor of IBM’s clicky Model M keyboard, The Verge orchestrated a performance of iconic keyboards throughout the ages," The Verge said.

Stars of the video included a mechanical typewriter, an early computer, an Apple iMac, an IBM ThinkPad, a Targus foldable PDA keyboard, a BlackBerry, and even a tablet.

IBM's Model M, which was built in 1984, gained fame and a bit of notoriety for its clicking sound, as well as its extreme durability.

The keyboard was also known for its buckling spring that provided tactile feedback - and the famous clicking sound. — Joel Locsin/TJD, GMA News
