WATCH: New 'Final Fantasy XV' trailer reveals epic storyline
By MICHAEL LOGARTA

Hot on the heels of the English release of the “Final Fantasy XV” trailer originally shown at Tokyo Game Show 2014, Square Enix has revealed another trailer for the highly-anticipated game at the Jump Festa 2015 event.
The video gives us a better glimpse of the game’s story, which involves the military takeover of the city of Insomnia. You’ve got huge airships, tense palace drama, some sour-faced old fart leading the “Final Fantasy” version of Imperial Stormtroopers… what’s not to like?
We then get a huge dose of main hero Noctis, and his fellow saviors of the world: a big, tattooed bruiser type; a younger, even more effeminate version of Cloud Strife with a penchant for showing off his clean-shaven armpits; and what seems to be the intellectual/fashionista of the group, who has a British accent, because of course.
We even get to meet this game’s version of the ubiquitous Cid. This time, he is a she named Cidney – a blond mechanic with a cute but incomprehensible twang:
We are treated to some incredible combat gameplay, which calls to mind “Kingdom Hearts’, ” only on steroids. Then we’re shown Noctis’ enormous weapon, and an even more humongous summoned creature – the Titan.
“That’s Titan,” explained game director Hajime Tabata. “And it’s a summon, and we’re planning on it being usable at that size, but with summons in XV – you saw them fighting Titan (in the trailer) – you have to fight them like that, or you obtain them in other ways. Basically, you’re going to obtain them through different methods.”
The new video flaunts some beautiful locales, including Resukarunu, a town that looks very much like a modern-day vacation spot. According to Tabata, the towns in “Final Fantasy XV” will be “seamless.”
“It’s actually a very important town that has something to do with Titan that we showed earlier,” Tabata clarified. “And it’s big. But it’s not the biggest town.”
Despite its wow factor, the trailer does exhibit the poor lip syncing with the English audio - which probably won’t be so big a deal, as it seems most players want to play the game with the original Japanese audio anyway.
First revealed in 2006 as “Final Fantasy XIII” offshoot “Final Fantasy Versus XIII,” “Final Fantasy XV” still does not have a release date. — TJD, GMA News
