Watch the new ‘Avengers: Age of Ultron’ trailer

They hype and excitement for superhero films this year just turned up a notch, with Marvel's brand-new trailer for their upcoming and epic hero movie sequel that is “Avengers: Age of Ultron”.

In the new trailer, Earth’s Mightiest Heroes prepare to face Ultron – an evil and sentient A.I. program that was developed by none other than Iron Man himself, Tony Stark. In the wake of S.H.I.E.L.D’s collapse and with the world in need of protection, Stark develops a dormant peacekeeping program with the intent of safeguarding humanity and giving the Avengers a break. Unfortunately things go out of hand, and Ultron decides that humans are the bigger threat to the world that must be eliminated. With no other course of action, Earth’s Mightiest Heroes are brought back together to fight a foe no single hero was meant to withstand—or die in the attempt.

The star-studded cast of the original Avengers movie reunite to face down a threat that is closer to home than anyone could have imagined. Robert Downey Jr. reprises his signature role as Tony Stark/ Iron Man, alongside Chris Evans as Steve Rogers/ Captain America; Chris Hemsworth as Thor; Scarlett Johansson as Natasha Romanoff/ Black Widow; Jeremy Renner as Clint Barton/ Hawkeye; and Mark Ruffalo as Bruce Banner/ The Incredible Hulk.

New to the mix will be James Spader, who voices Ultron, and Aaron Taylor-Johnson and Elizabeth Olsen as the “Miracle Twins” Pietro and Wanda Maximoff, a.k.a. Quicksilver and The Scarlet Witch. Colbie Smulders and Samuel L. Jackson will also be returning as former S.H.I.E.L.D agents Maria Hill and Nick Fury, while Paul Bettany gets an upgrade from voicing Tony Stark’s smart A.I., J.A.R.V.I.S., evolving into the heroic android known as The Vision.

Avengers: Age of Ultron will be released in theaters in the US on May 1, 2015. — TJD, GMA News
