Flappy Bird is back! –As an arcade game

Flappy Bird, the popular mobile game pulled out by its own creator because of its addictive nature, is back—as an arcade game.

And what a comeback: from the five-inch screen, the game now jumps at you from a huge 42-inch one.

Bay Tek Games, which licensed the game and installed it in an arcade, promised a game play that it said "will have players coming back for more."

"Simply press the large red button to skillfully maneuver the bird through the openings in the pipes. Having the bird touch one of the pipes or the ground ends the game for the player. Earn tickets with each set of pipes that the bird successfully passes through," Bay Tek said.

Players can compete for a daily high score or the all-time high score.

The game cabinet weighs 300 pounds and runs on AC power.

Tech site T3 said the retro gaming cabinet offers the full goodness of tricky navigation on a 42-inch display.

"While it’s a neat concept and no doubt an eye-catching machine to feature in someone’s games room, we can’t see many forking out hard-earned cash for it," it added, however. — Joel Locsin/TJD, GMA News
