A Filipino company, H2O Technologies, Inc., (http://h2o-ph.com/) has developed an amphibious tricycle, a possible solution for the flooding that happens during the yearly rainy season.

Dubbed the Salamander, there are two prototypes; one of them gasoline-powered and the other one an electric variant. Both can seat up to 6 people and come provided with oars in case the engine dies. The electric prototype has solar panels and a USB port that can be used for charging phones.

H2O Technologies, Inc. spent a total of P 1 million on both prototypes and took almost 2 years to complete them. They’re looking at a target price of around P 200,000 per unit. —Bea Montenegro/NB, GMA News
