Microsoft adds OCR support for OneNote for Mac
Users of Microsoft's OneNote on Apple Macintosh computers may just scan images with text and make them editable, thanks to a new feature on OneNote for Mac.
The feature supports optical character recognition (OCR) and is rolling out via OneNote version 15.7.1, 9to5mac.com said.
"Once OneNote’s OCR system has ran, you can actually copy the text and save it to your notes just like if it were a editable text file from the start," it said.
It added that while searching images for text is possible only for new images added to OneDrive notebooks, a future version may make text search on existing images possible.
Also, the updated OneNote allows toggling viewing authors and closing the window without quitting the app.
