Starmobile introduces Digital TV-capable smartphone

Starmobile introduced the UP Vision this May, a new addition to their line of digital TV-capable smartphones. The UP Vision is capable of receiving DTV broadcasts in areas where the service is available.

Malacañang previously announced that the Philippines will be adopting Japan’s DTV standard once the Philippines makes the transition from analog TV to digital terrestrial television this 2015.

“DTV is the future of television viewing and the UP Vision, together with the Starmobile KNIGHT Vision, will play a key role in that future,” said Starmobile President Ulysses Lao.

KNIGHT Vision is the first smartphone in Starmobile’s DTV line. It has an Optical Image Stabilization (OIS) camera, which eliminates the blur from unwanted hand movement when taking photos.

Aside from DTV capability, UP Vision has a 4.4 KitKat OS, 1.3 GHz Quad Core ARM Cortex-A7 processor, 4.7-inch screen, 8 GB of internal storage, and 1 GB of RAM. The front camera has a resolution of 8 MP and the rear camera has a resolution of 13 MP. The Starmobile UP Vision is available for PHP 5,990. — Bea Montenegro/TJD, GMA News
