Future living rooms may not need much space for the TV—give or take a millimeter or two.

Korean electronics company LG's screen-making subsidiary recently demonstrated a proof-of-concept 55-inch OLED TV, tech site CNET reported.

The 1.9-kilo OLED TV can even be magnetically attached to a wall, it added.

CNET quoted Sang-Deog Yeo, head of LG Display's OLED business unit, as saying OLED "represents a groundbreaking technology" for the industry.

But the wallpaper TV may still be a long way from making it to the living room due to the high cost of production.

Still, LG said it has made progress in making OLEDs, claiming to be the first firm to mass-produce large-screen OLEDs.

A separate report on ScienceDump said it could take five to 10 years before OLED screens reach the masses. — Joel Locsin/TJD, GMA News
