Chinese hackers deface Philippine Public Safety College website
Chinese hackers defaced the Philippine Public Safety College website Saturday night, pointing to the Philippines' row with China over the West Philippine Sea as the reason for the cyberattack.
Hacker group 1937 CN Team left a message on the PPSC website that read, “Hello Philippines, we are hard to be optimistic about the situation... We welcome the Philippines in the form of negotiations to resolve the South China Sea [row].”
The hackers also demanded that President Benigno Aquino III resign from his post for provoking China through a Philippine Government documentary on the territorial dispute. “If Aquino does not step down, if you want to adhere to anti-China [efforts]... Our attack will not stop, we always pay attention to the safety of China's territory!” 1937 CN Team threatened.
The two parts of the Philippine Government sponsored documentary entitled “Karapatan sa Dagat” were recently broadcast. The documentary explains the Philippines' right to the West Philippine Sea, which China claims as well. — Andrei Medina/DVM, GMA News
