All-new 'Star Wars: The Force Awakens' trailer reveals old legends, new heroes

Giving fans of The Force a new taste of things to come this December, Walt Disney Pictures, LucasFilm, and J.J. Abrams have unveiled a brand new theatrical trailer to the newest chapter in the long-running Star Wars franchise that sees new heroes emerge and old legends return with Star Wars: The Force Awakens.

Set 30 years after the defeat of the Galactic Empire and the death of Anakin Skywalker/ Darth Vader during the events of “Return of the Jedi”, the landscape of a galaxy far, far away has vastly changed, with the Jedi and Sith becoming nothing more than stories and tales to a new generation. The calm however is interrupted by the emergence of a new army called “The First Order”, with a dark warrior named Kylo Ren seemingly seeking to finish what Vader and his Empire started. Through it all, three different individuals in Rey, Finn, and Poe emerge and find themselves wrapped in an adventure bigger than they could have imagined, as heroes from the past return and a saga involving The Force begins anew.

Featuring the return of Harrison Ford as Han Solo, Carrie Fisher as Princess Leia Organa, and Mark Hamill as Luke Skywalker, Star Wars: The Force Awakens stars Daisy Ridley as Rey, John Boyega as Finn, Oscar Isaac as Poe Dameron, and Adam Driver as Kylo Ren. Beloved supporting characters such as Chewbacca and the droids C-3P0 and R2-D2 return, and the new film introduces a beloved new robot in BB-8. The film is set to be the start of a brand new trilogy for the saga, as well as inspiring new spin-offs that will keep the franchise alive and rejuvenated for years to come.
