Destiny of Thrones, Dragonica unveiled at Playpark Chinese New Year celebration

Playpark is celebrating the Chinese New Year with the announcement of several new games for mobile devices.

The reveals were made on February 6 at a Playpark event which gathered members of the media and gaming enthusiasts.

Destiny of Thrones

Chief among the reveals were “Destiny of Thrones,” a MOBA specifically designed for smartphones and tablets.

“Destiny of Thrones” comes with over 50 playable characters and a universe inspired by Chinese mythology.

Because it’s a MOBA, “Destiny of Thrones” focuses on a strong multiplayer element. Allies will need a combination of strategy, dexterity, and daring to defeat the opposing A.I. or player-controlled team. The game also boasts a weekly rotation of free heroes, 3v3 and 5v5 maps, a guild system and various types of chat features, voice chat, and more.

Playpark plans to cultivate an eSports community around “Destiny of Thrones.” We can therefore expect both local and international tournaments involving the Southeast Asian region in the game’s future.

“Destiny of Thrones” is expecting release within the first half of 2016.

You can learn more about the game at its official site or Facebook page.

Dragonica

Originally for the PC, “Dragonica” is reborn as “LINE Dragonica Mobile.”

“Dragonica” is a 3D side-scrolling action RPG that lets players embark on a quest to slay the villainous dragon, Elga. They can choose to play as the Warrior, Magician, or Thief, each of whom has a unique assortment of skills that can be developed with experience. Attacks can be strung together to form devastating combos. Players can collect a variety of powerful weapons and over 200 costumes. Pets also come into play; these critters accompany you on your travels, and can be evolved to provide unique bonuses.

Other features include PvP, special quests which reward players with rare items, extensive character customization options, and more.

“Dragonica” is already available for download. For more information, you can visit its official site or Facebook page.

Other games

“Pocket MapleStory SEA,” announced in December 2015, is a side-scrolling MMORPG that was originally for the PC. It boasts over 1,500 unique quests, cute and colorful visuals, action-packed gameplay, and a rich array of environments including dungeons. The game does not have a release date yet, but Playpark assures it will be coming to the Philippines soon.

“Dragon Encounter,” also previously announced, is currently one of the most popular games in South Korea, with over 1,000,000 downloads within 2 weeks of its launch on December 8, 2015. This game includes crisp 3D visuals, explosive and fast-paced action, PvP and PvE modes, and more.

Playpark’s “Heartcastle,”  a free-to-play title released on February 26, 2015, tasks players with attaining the status of Master Trainer by capturing and training pets. Inspired by “Alice in Wonderland,” your journey will have you confronting, taming, and evolving countless monsters. “Heartcastle” has proven popular with women, with over 60% of its player base being female.

“Advance Dino,” which was launched in October 2014, is another free-to-play game. It allows you to construct cities and then wage war on your enemies with an army of cuddly cartoon dinosaurs. There are numerous kinds of dinosaurs to collect and level up, and many towers, traps, and siege engines to utilize in your war for supremacy.

Expect more reveals from Playpark in the upcoming months. — TJD, GMA News
