Hilarious 'Hulk vs Ant-Man' Super Bowl 50 ad goes viral
If you tuned in to the 50th installment of the big Super Bowl game in America last Sunday, a lot of big companies and franchises took the opportunity to endorse and promote some of the biggest products and movies known to man today.
Among these companies were Marvel, who not only pushed its upcoming big superhero flick with “Captain America: Civil War”, but also joined forces with Coca-Cola to create what is possibly one of the most action-packed commercials for the softdrink brand that features two members of the Avengers to boot!
Released online just after it aired in the Super Bowl, the Coke Mini episode called “Hulk vs Ant-Man” is pretty much what you’d expect from the title – Bruce Banner turns into The Hulk and goes on a rampage after Scott Lang/ Ant-Man steals his last remaining Coke beverage from his refrigerator! What then follows is a hilarious game of “Cat and Mouse”, where Ant-Man goes across the town avoiding the Hulk’s rage as much as he can while preserving the softdrink he’s carrying. It comes to a point that the chase stops and Ant-Man returns the Coke can to Hulk, but the Green Goliath’s huge hands have no hope of opening the cold beverage! Taking pity on his fellow Avenger, Ant-Man saves the day by shrinking and opening the Coke for Hulk to drink, while also taking a cool big taste of Coca-Cola in his small size for his troubles.
Just because it’s a short commercial doesn’t mean that little effort was put into the project. This behind-the-scenes video by Superhero Network shows how much work was put into bringing The Hulk and Ant-Man coke fight to life, with a ton of VFX, storyboarding, and conceptualizing done by an amazing team of filmmakers and animators.
