Pinoy YouTube stars call on voters to be aware of trending issues

Filipino YouTube personalities in a video called on voters to be on top of issues so they can make informed decisions ahead of the local and national elections on May 9.

The personalities involved in the campaign are Erwan Heussaff, Bogart the Explorer, Ashley Gosiengfiao, Jako de Leon, Say Tioco, Chris Cantada, Wil Dasovich, and Spongecola members Yael Yuzon, Gosh Dilay, Ted Mark Cruz, and Erwin Armovit.

“Do you care about health care, equality, education, foreign policy, fighting corruption, the peace process, job creation?” online personalities asked in the 1 minute and 10 second “Googlegram.”

The video was produced as part of Google Philippines’ #GoogleMoMuna campaign to access news and information online, watch livestreamed debates to know and understand socio-political issues.

The campaign was launched so voters can participate in lively and healthy discussions.

“Google believes that part of being a significant part of the country’s development as citizens is arming ourselves with the right information. There are a lot of resources online. We encourage everyone to seize that advantage and be part of informed conversations that will address issues in our country,” said Gail Tan, Google Philippines Head of Communications and Public Affairs in a statement on Wednesday.
