The communications team of President-elect Rodrigo Duterte on Monday met with an official of Facebook to discuss plans for the incoming administration.

A statement from the Duterte camp stated that incoming Presidential Communications Secretary Martin Andanar, incoming Presidential spokesperson Ernie Abella, and Facebook Public Policy for Asia Pacific head Elizabeth Hernandez discussed how to livestream Duterte’s inauguration on June 30 as well as other plans throughout his term.

“With the inauguration ceremony drawing near on June 30th, Facebook is reaching out to the communications team of the incoming president to offer its support in using its online platform for the historic occasion,” the statement said.

Andanar, Abella, and Hernandez were joined by media executive Paul Dominguez, blogger Nic Gabunada, and business development director John Carlo Tria.

It can be recalled that Duterte was the most talked about presidential candidate on Facebook from November 20, 2015 to April 5, 2016 getting 64 percent share of conversation on the social media platform. — BAP, GMA News
