Transformers: Combiner Wars cartoon coming this August

Looks like Hasbro is preparing Transformers fans for another animated offering featuring the fan favorite Robots in Disguise, as the toy and board game company is pairing up with Machinima to launch an animated series based on the new Transformers toy line “Combiner Wars”.

During this year’s Cannes Lions Festival, Hasbro Inc. and Machinima presented the very first stills from the upcoming new cartoon, which will once again feature the heroic Autobots battling against the evil Decepticons for the fate of the universe. Based on the best selling “Combiner Wars” toyline released and produced by Hasbro, the premise of the series will focus on the Transformers and their ability to merge and form into more powerful and combined versions of themselves. Elements of these were previously seen and showcased in past Transformers shows, with the likes of Devastator and Superion being among the first robots formed from a team of combiners.

In addition to the Combiner Wars animated series premiering this August, Machinima will launch a four-episode prelude series called “Prelude To Combiner Wars” – which will serve as a primer to the upcoming new show. That miniseries will debut this June 28th on YouTube, Facebook, and Go90.
