Akuma is coming back in Street Fighter V

You can’t keep a good “Raging Demon” down… And the fighting game Gods of Capcom are bringing back one of the most powerful Street Fighter characters of them all for their latest action brawler “Street Fighter V” come next year!

Announced at the conclusion of the “Red Bull Battle Grounds” fighting game tournament held in North America, Capcom released a new teaser video for SFV that pretty much confirms the return of Akuma/ Gouki – the Dark Hadou user and original hidden character of the series who’s thirst for battle knows no bounds in the Street Fighter universe.

Last seen of all places as a guest character in Bandai Namco’s updated Tekken 7 release “Tekken 7: Fated Retribution”, Akuma makes his triumphant return to the World Warrior circuit and boasts an ominous new presence following the teaser video promoting his comeback to Street Fighter V.

According to Shoryuken.com and Twitter user Sonic Monarch, the kanji in the demon fighter’s back is actually the same one Shin Akuma sports in the crossover dream match game “Capcom Vs SNK 2” – where Akuma is given the powers of the Orochi via a dying Rugal’s hands. If this is true and if any speculation can be made, then possibly this has something to do with his V-Trigger powers. One can only hope that the “Wrath of the Raging Demon” will accompany this Satsui No Hadou user’s return. Also present in the trailer was a new ruined dojo stage, with a multi-armed Asura statue seen in it.

No release date or details were released for Akuma’s return to Street Fighter V, other than the fact that he will be playable during Sony’s Playstation Experience event on December 3-4 at Anaheim, California.  — TJD, GMA News
