Nintendo Switch debuts on Jimmy Fallon show

The public got a quick peek at the hotly anticipated Nintendo Switch gaming console on Thursday on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon.

An avid gamer, Fallon guested Nintendo of America president Reggie Fils-Aimé, who started off the segment by talking about the company's new game, Super Mario Run.

And if having the legendary Shigeru Miyamoto—the creator of Super Mario, Donkey Kong, Legend of Zelda, and a host of other classic games—in the audience wasn't exciting enough, Fils-Aimé jacked up the excitement by unveiling the Nintendo Switch.

Touted as the first hybrid gaming machine of its kind, the Nintendo Switch can be used as a console as well as a mobile device.

"(It's) launching next March, and we're going to be sharing more information on January 12. But before then, we wanted to give you a special opportunity (to play with it)," he said.

Fallon got to play the upcoming Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild as Fils-Aimé transitioned the device seamlessly from console to mobile mode.

"I'm freaking out! This is a game changer!! (Everyone) will be playing with this come March," Fallon enthused. — GMA News
