Since it was announced during Sony’s Electronic Entertainment Expo/ E3 Press Conference last year, a lot of eyes and attention have been turned to Insomniac Games’ upcoming Spider-Man game, which will be exclusive to the Playstation 4 and features everyone’s favorite wallcrawling hero sporting a redesigned version with a white spider emblem embossed throughout his iconic red and blue costume.

The game will be the first game that pairs Insomniac and Sony together, along with Marvel Entertainment’s new strategy to lease their properties to “the best game companies” that are passionate with their characters and properties.

Since a tech demo was released no other information has come on the release window for the Spider-Man game, but Polygon reports that Vice President and Executive Editor of Marvel Digital Media Ryan Penagos said that the game would finally be coming later this year, along with other Marvel titles from other developers and publishers.

“There’s even more on the horizon for 2017,”Said Penagos in the stream interview. “Like Spider-Man coming to PlayStation 4 and Marvel vs Capcom: Infinite, coming to Xbox One, PS4 and Windows PC.”

However following that interview, Insomniac Games in their official Twitter account didn't confirm the game’s release within 2017 window based on Penagos statement.

There is a possibility that the developer is saving their release date announcement for E3 or some other major event later this year, and even if Sony is busy promoting their new Spider-Man film with Marvel Studios in “Spider-Man: Homecoming”, the game is separate and has no tie-in to the Marvel Cinematic Universe entry itself. — TJD, GMA News
