The PNP Human Rights Affairs Office has launched the "Know your rights" mobile application for police officers on occasion of National Human Rights Consciousness Week.

The app is designed to remind police of the Miranda rights—those that a person being arrested has—and reminders to avoid torturing suspects.

According to Mariz Umali's report on "24 Oras", the app may be downloaded from Google Playstore on Android smart phones.

Civilians may also download the app so that they would know their rights when being arrested or under the custody of authorities.

For arresting officers, the app has the Miranda rights translated into several languages to be read to suspects who do not understand Filipino or English. —NB, GMA News
