Pokemon announces new strategic team battle game ‘Pokemon Unite’

The Pokemon Company announced that it is developing a new strategic team battle game called “Pokemon Unite."

According to developers, players will get to team up for 5-on-5 matches in a battle arena where they can earn points by defeating wild Pokemon.

Nintendo also released a sweet first look at the gameplay in this video:

Game producer Masaaki Hishino from the Pokemon Company explained some of the game's key features in a "Pokemon Presents" broadcast.

Five players will be able to team up and cooperate together to defeat the opposing team, by scoring more points than them within the timeline.

The Pokemon you control will start at Level 1, but it can increase in level and evolve as it defeats more wild pokemon.

And, yes, fan favorites like Pikachu, Charmander, Squirtle, and Bulbasaur were among the choice of Pokemon shown in the preview.

"Pokemon Unite" will be available on Nintendo Switch and mobile devices, but the release date has yet to be announced.
