DICT warns public vs possible cyberattack on Nov. 5, 2025

The Department of Information and Communications Technology (DICT) on Sunday warned of a possible Distributed Denial of Service (DDoS), a type of cyberattack, on Wednesday, November 5, 2025.

In a social media post, DICT said it will monitor the possible DDoS or “traffic flood,” where multiple devices overwhelm a targeted system, server, or network to slow it down or make it unstable or completely unavailable to users.

“Dahil dito, pwedeng bumagal o hindi agad mag-load ang ilang websites o apps. Pero kalma lang dahil hindi ito data breach. Walang mananakaw na personal accounts, data or pera,” DICT said.

(Due to this, some websites or apps may slow down or not load immediately. But don’t worry, this is not a data breach. No personal accounts, data, or money will be stolen.)

DICT urged netizens to do the following:

  • Try the website or app after some time.
  • Use the official app/ status page.
  • Follow verified updates.
  • Avoid engaging in illegal online attacks.

The public may also report incidents at 1326@dict.gov.ph or call the 1326 hotline.

Under Oplan Cyberdome, DICT said it is working with the Cybercrime Investigation and Coordinating Center, National Telecommunications Commission, law enforcement agencies, and other stakeholders to address and protect online platforms.

DICT also said its National Computer Emergency Response Team is active 24/7 to monitor and ensure a safe digital space.

It also reminded the public to be alert, calm, and responsible in using the internet.
