PAGASA warns public of even hotter weather in May
PAGASA advised the public to brace for more extreme hot weather in May, a report on GMA News TV's News To Go said Wednesday.
The temperature in May could reach 35 to 38 degrees Celsius, PAGASA said.
On Sunday, the highest temperature in the country this season was recorded at 39°C in Isabela State University, while the highest heat index was recorded at 51.7°C in Dagupan City, Pangasinan on Tuesday.
Heat index is the measure of the temperature that a person feels, which is different from the actual air temperature.
According to PAGASA, reaching 37°C of temperature is already dangerous for the body.
Despite the rains over the most parts of the Visayas and Mindanao due to the easterlies, extreme hot weather is still expected to continue on Wednesday.
Low chance of rain is expected in Metro Manila, while the heat index could reach to 39°C, according to PAGASA. — Joviland Rita/RSJ, GMA News
