Cloudy with isolated rain showers seen in most of PHL; init factor to reach 42C


Most of the country will have partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rain showers and thunderstorms on Monday, PAGASA said in its 4 a.m. weather forecast.

The weather bureau said easterlies—hot winds blowing from the east—will continue to affect Southern Luzon, Visayas and Mindanao.

 

Coastal waters in Northern Luzon and the rest of the country will be slight to moderate.

As of 8 p.m. on Sunday, the highest temperature was recorded at 12 noon at 35.2 degrees Celsius.

Init factor

It will be a hot day throughout the country, GMA resident meteorologist Nathaniel "Mang Tani" Cruz said on GMA News' Unang Hirit.

The init factor or the heat felt by the body will be highest in Cotabato at 42 degrees Celsius.

In Metro Manila, the init factor will be 35 degrees Celsius at 8 a.m., 39 degrees Celsius at 12 noon, and 32 degrees Celsius at 7 p.m.

The chances of rain over Metro Manila remains slim at 10% during the daytime, Cruz said.

Meanwhile, other cities in the country will have the following init factor on Monday:

  • Dagupan: 42°C
  • Tuguegarao: 41°C
  • Cabanatuan: 41°C
  • Subic: 38°C
  • Calapan: 39°C
  • Legazpi: 38°C
  • Puerto Princesa: 38°C
  • Catbalogan: 39°C
  • Cebu: 37°C
  • Iloilo: 38°C
  • Davao: 40°C
  • Zamboanga: 38°C

 

On Sunday, the highest init factor temperatures were recorded in the following areas:

  • Dagupan: 45.9°C
  • Cotabato: 44.9°C
  • Cuyo, Palawan: 43.1°C
