LPA spotted in Surigao del Sur area


The Low Pressure Area (LPA) was estimated at 570 kilometers east northeast of Hinatuan, Surigao del Sur early Saturday morning embedded in the Intertropical Convergence Zone (ITCZ) affecting Mindanao, PAGASA reported in its early morning forecast.

Metro Manila and the rest of Luzon will have cloudy skies with scattered rainshowers and thunderstorms caused by southwesterlies. The weather bureau says that flash floods or landslides may occur in these areas due to severe thunderstorms.

CARAGA and northern Mindanao will have cloudy skies with scattered rainshowers and thunderstorms brought about by the LPA. The public is warned that flash floods and landslides are possible due to scattered light to moderate to at times heavy rains.

The rest of the country will have partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rainshowers caused by localized thunderstorms. PAGASA says that flash floods or landslides may occur in these areas due to severe thunderstorms.

The wind speed forecast in Luzon is light to moderate moving southwest to west while the coastal waters would be slight to moderate.

In the Visayas and Mindanao, wind speed forecast is light to moderate moving southwest to west while coastal waters will be slight to moderate.
