Fair weather seen in Metro Manila; rains in north and central Luzon, Mindanao

Metro Manila and Southern Luzon will be hot and humid on Sunday, but rains may pour in Northern Luzon, Central Luzon, and Mindanao, according to PAGASA.

PAGASA weather specialist Meno Mendoza said in the weather bureau's 4 a.m. weather update that although Metro Manila and Southern Luzon will be hot and humid, isolated rain showers and thunderstorms may occur.

Winds from the southwest will bring rains to Northern and Central Luzon.

A low pressure area spotted at 2 a.m. at 355 kilometers east of Hinatuan, Surigao del Sur will bring rains to a large part of Mindanao. The LPA is not expected to intensify into a tropical depression in the next few hours.

Meanwhile, the Ilocos region, Cordillera Administrative Region, Cagayan Valley, and Central Luzon will be cloudy with isolated rain showers.

Central Visayas, Caraga, Davao, and Northern Mindanao will be cloudy with isolated rain showers and thunderstorms due to the LPA.

The rest of Visayas and Mindanao will be hot and humid with isolated thunderstorms.

Forecast temperatures on Sunday are as follows:

• Laoag: 24-31°C
• Baguio: 16-22°C
• Legazpi: 26-34°C
• Metro Manila: 25-33°C
• Tagaytay: 22-31°C
• Puerto Princesa: 25-33°C
• Iloilo: 26-33°C
• Cebu: 27-34°C
• Tacloban: 25-33°C
• Zamboanga: 24-33°C
• CDO: 24-33°C
• Davao: 26-33°C

No gale warning has been raised since coastal waters will be slight to moderate.

Monday weather

Meanwhile, on Monday, Metro Manila will again be hot and humid with isolated rain showers. Temperatures will range from 25 to 33 degrees Celsius.

Baguio City will have some rains and thunderstorms. Temperatures will be from 16 to 22 degrees Celsius.

Legazpi will be hot and humid with isolated thunderstorms. Forecast temperatures range from 25 to 34 degrees Celsius.

Metro Cebu will also be hot and humid with localized thunderstorms. Temperatures will be from 26 to 34 degrees Celsius.

Metro Davao meanwhile will have isolated thunderstorms. Forecast temperatures are from 25 to 34 degrees Celsius.
