Generally fair weather in Luzon, rains expected in the afternoon due to localized thunderstorms
The weather bureau is monitoring a Low Pressure Area (LPA) within the Philippine Area of Responsibility (PAR), which is 520 kilometers east southeast of General Santos City in South Cotabato, according to DOST-PAGASA Weather Specialist Ariel Rojas.
The LPA has a low chance of developing into a storm and may dissipate in the next 24 to 36 hours.
Luzon will have a generally fair weather but localized thunderstorms may occur in the afternoon and evening.
Metro Manila and the rest of Greater Manila Area will have partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rainshowers.
Light to moderate winds coming from the southeast will prevail and the coastal waters will be slight to moderate.
Partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rainshowers and thunderstorms will prevail over Bicol Region, Oriental Mindoro, Marinduque, Romblon and Northern Samar.
Palawan will have fair weather but localized thunderstorms may occur in the afternoon or evening.
Light to moderate winds blowing from the South will prevail over Bicol Region, Oriental Mindoro, Marinduque and Romblon with slight to moderate seas.
Light to moderate winds blowing from the East to Southeast will prevail over Northern Samar with slight to moderate seas.
The trough of the LPA will affect the entire Visayas will be cloudy with scattered rainshowers and thunderstorms.
The entire Mindanao will also be affected by the trough of the LPA and will experience cloudy skies and scattered rainshowers and thunderstorms. — BAP, GMA News
