Cloudy, scattered rains in Visayas, Zamboanga Peninsula and Caraga due to ITCZ

The northeasterly surface windflow will continue to prevail over Luzon on Thursday, PAGASA reported in its early morning forecast.

Batanes and Cagayan will have cloudy skies with light rains brought about by the northeasterly surface windflow.

The Visayas, Zamboanga Peninsula and Caraga region will have cloudy skies with scattered rainshowers and thunderstorm due to the Intertropical Convergence Zone (ITCZ)

Metro Manila and the rest of the country, on the other hand, will have partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rainshowers due to localized thunderstorms.

In these areas, flash floods or landslides are possible during severe thunderstorm, the weather bureau warned.

PAGASA continues to monitor a weather system near the Philippine Area of Responsibility (PAR).

As of 3 a.m. on Thursday, the center of Tropical Depression Perla was estimated at 910 kilometers east of Tuguegarao City, Cagayan with maximum sustained winds of 45 kilometers per hour near the center and gustiness of up to 55 km/h.

Perla is moving westward at 10 km/h.

The forecast wind speed for Luzon and Visayas is moderate to strong moving northeastward while coastal waters will be moderate to rough.

In Mindanao, the forecast wind speed is light to moderate moving in the northeast direction while coastal waters will remain slight to moderate. — BAP, GMA News
